Bot Projects
A bot project is a special project type for an agent you talk to outside normal repository work. Standard projects represent git repos; a bot is a named assistant with its own workspace and chat, listed separately in the project switcher.
Create a bot
Section titled “Create a bot”- Open ⋯ More actions → New Bot in the activity bar, or click New Bot on the projects home grid.
- Enter a name and confirm.
Tarsk creates an empty bot workspace under your data directory and opens it like any other project. You get one bot-style landing view instead of the full projects grid layout for standard repos.
How bots differ from standard projects
Section titled “How bots differ from standard projects”| Area | Standard project | Bot project |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Work in a connected git repo | Delegate tasks or work across projects |
| Creation | Clone, open folder, zip, scaffold, blank | Name only (New Bot) |
| Project switcher | Listed under projects | Listed under bots |
| Tool settings | You enable or disable tools in Settings → Plugins → Tools | Tool list is locked for the bot type |
| Git Ops in chat | Full git toolbar in the chat footer menu | Git Ops menu entries are hidden |
| New Chat | Creates a workspace on the repo | Selecting New Chat focuses a fresh chat in the bot workspace |
Agent messages in a bot thread use the bot name as the speaker label. In standard projects, the label uses your primary bot’s name when one exists.
